Sketched out guide bass line for 'Me Me Me' which is assuming a very pleasant
1970 Pink Floyd atmosphere with its minor/major key change. Also started
looking at a composition from earlier in the year with the working title
'Globo Electro' which is sounding promising.

Paul and Steve work on a new track, 'Me Me Me', adding rough
guitars and saxophone.
We hear a version of the mastered track 'Bombast'... it
sounds good so we will probably use these people to master the whole 'Globo's
This Nation's Saving Grace Experiment'.

Kaoru's vocals for 'Beautiful World' have been recorded.

indeed. The track is now ready for mixing and will be delivered easily

Writing melodica and guitar parts for 'Stop the Scientists'
at worldnet.
Monday, June 10, 2008
Paul says:
1. Beautiful world - need to do Vox with Kaoru - (needs
to be next week)
2. Stop the scientists 2008 - approaching completion at worldnet,
lovely
3. Hope and Glory 2008 - with fucking string section at worldnet,
coming on I think
4. Concorde again (never give up till the fight is won) at CME, now has
lovely Georgie vox - she liked her vox also and its sweeter and more tuneful
than ever - I will email Native Hipsters about it when complete maybe
even justify a little more complexity in the animation (a few frames of
handbags, shopping basket, dress prints and a thin lady walking down)
Other news
My headphones turned up in a Mac carrier Am making 12 CDs
of fall promo (need some for Anne, Emma and Bearsuit
- will do asap) Must admit has been good getting back to worldnet, combining
what we now know with the old S3200 and outboard keys like the juno does
give even more of a quality (very boring loading the S3200 - yes Ive said
it, S3200 and boring - but its still a lovely old beast and works nice
with all the newer sounds)

Steve trawled through a huge pile of DV tape cataloging
and capturing footage, some to be displayed on this site, some to be sold
in the shop and a great deal of which to be hidden for at least another
ten years to protect the reputations of those involved.

the Devo NNBBM project.

A version of Globo's 'Onward', the b-side of our first
single 'Beautiful Feeling', was played during the BBC1 show Comedy Map
of Britain tonight. In 1995, we re-wrote this tune when asked to provide
music for the BBC2 comedy show Lee & Herring's Fist of Fun. We also
played live at the show's launch party.
"Fist of Fun's theme music is indeed the B-side of Globo's 'Beautiful
Feeling', but they have re-mixed it for us, and done all the incidental
music and stings. They have a new album out called "Pro-War"
which is good. Their live shows represent the kind of info-overload we
wanted, plus they are nice blokes. Stew says: "I really like guitary
moany music, to be honest, no technical stuff, but we didn't want to have
some cool indie band do the sound-track so we'd look like hopelessly out
of date twats in about 2 months time. Globo's stuff sounds kind of efficient
and grown up and outside fashion."

Yesterday, we attended a conference about The Fall at the
University of Salford. In the evening, we presented our This Nation's
Saving Grace experiment in a pub in Salford. We met lots of interesting
people, including Grant Showbiz, who produced a lot of Fall records, and
Mark E. Smith's mum and two sisters.
MES himself was present via a phone call taken by Grant
Showbiz while he was on stage talking about his work with The Fall.
There was controversy when Mick Middles spoke about his
relationship with MES and an irate MES sister loudly took him to task
about some missing family pictures. It was very tense and made us very
nervous about showing our film about our version of This Nation's Saving
Grace.
We spoke to both sisters and MES's mother afterwards, and
they were very nice to us. We waved them goodbye when they left in their
taxi at about midnight. It was a memorable night.

We are going to Manchester tonight for tomorrow's conference
about The Fall at the Universtiy of Salford. We have been invited to present
our new project, Globo's This Nation's Saving Grace. We have re-created
this Fall masterpiece track-by-track with vocal contributions from friends
like Bearsuit and Telemark. The album is due for a September release,
but snippets will be emerging soon. There is also a short information
film which we will be showing in Manchester and will soon be available
to viewing online. Extra clever people may be able to track down the film
already, but we will be announcing the link to it shortly.
